These are challenging times for humanity and for our planet. They beckon and evoke the deepest parts of ourselves to join as co-creators to innovate means for survival. A descriptive and visual metaphor for the experiences of the present times is a kaleidoscope. When viewing inside a kaleidoscope there is an arbitrary array of patterned shapes and colors the eye beholds. With a slight and simple turn, a new geometric picture presents itself for admiration and enjoyment.
What happens when our everyday world has a kaleidoscope effect: reality shifts from moment to moment? Although this is an opportunity to become skilled at connecting patterns and can lead to a beautiful picture and story for our lives, the situation before us, at times, lacks spontaneous and clear options and solutions. A mind bombarded with outside stimulants and guidance overload can take a toll on our senses and physical body, creating distress, disharmony and disconnect from our internal primal beat.
Coping with the demands of life is an inside job. Connecting to oneself, freeing your mind from the constant chatter, opening to greater awareness, and finding a deeper sense of peace are tools we all hold within us. Learning to access these through mediation is a gift given to ourselves.
Meditation is a technique for reducing anxiety, discontentment, and confusion. It trains the mind to focus and slow down, allowing a deepening into the sound and sustaining truths within and around us. Generating a consistent practice of focusing the mind presents proof of one’s ability to alter the state of mind and cultivates optimistic and new ways of being.
For this reason I am offering a weekly meditation time as a tool for dealing with the stressors and the seemingly out of control life events. Offering a space to come together for a brief time in the infinite source of time is a way of contributing to the optimism for the planet, for one another and for the Universe. The best way to learn about meditation is to do it and experience it. Please come and join us. There is a Meditation Schedule link on the Menu.
